Special Precautions
Patients with known allergies to horse protein; previous treatment with Centruroides immune F(ab')2 or other equine-derived antivenom/antitoxin. Pregnancy and lactation. Monitoring Parameters Monitor for signs and symptoms of envenomation (e.g. opsoclonus, involuntary muscle movement, slurred speech, paraesthesia, respiratory distress, vomiting, frothy sputum, salivation), serum sickness (e.g. fever, joint pain, muscle pain, rash), and acute antivenom hypersensitivity reactions (e.g. fever, myalgia, arthralgia, rash).

Adverse Reactions
Significant: Anaphylaxis, anaphylactoid reactions, delayed serum sickness; disease transmission (obtained from equine plasma). Vomiting, pyrexia, rash, nausea and pruritus, hypersensitivity reactions (e.g. anaphylactic shock), delayed allergic reactions (e.g. serum sickness). Chest tightness, palpitation.
Eye disorders: Ocular oedema.
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea.
General disorders and administration site conditions: Fever, fatigue, lethargy.
Infections and infestations: Transmission of infectious agents (e.g. viruses).
Nervous system disorders: Headache, ataxia.
Myalgia
Respiratory, thoracic and mediastinal disorders: Rhinorrhea, cough, aspiration, hypoxia, respiratory distress.
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: Rash, pruritus.
